Akiko Tsukamoto Akiko Tsukamoto

As a concert pianist, Akiko Tsukamoto has recently performed in the US, Japan, Mexico, Canada and Italy. She has served as staff accompanist at Tulane University, Southeastern Louisiana University and many other string studios and musical and opera productions across the US.

Her personal awards include the Dean Talent Scholarship from the Oberlin Conservatory, the Maynard Klein Award from Tulane University, Alternate Winner of the MTNA Louisiana State Competition, and many other awards from regional competitions in both Japan and the US.

She holds her Bachelor of Music degree from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music and Masters of Fine Arts from Tulane University in New Orleans. Her previous teachers include Monique Duphil, Faina Lushtak and Maxim Mogilevsky, among others.

Aside from performing with her duo partner and husband Dimitri, she is a performing soloist, chamber musician and accompanist. Akiko also shares her passion of music through teaching.
